Here is a copy of some of the good work which occured on Sunday,12th January,2014 our next Waratah Park Working Bee is on Sunday,9th February,2014! We have continued through the Christmas break this year so as we can control the weeds and grass growth and keep pushing the momenteum of interest which is a bit patchy at the end of last year!
We are now looking for a sponsor so we can set up a WDO (Work and Development Order) scheme? That is a scheme where by fine defaulters and debt defaulters can come and help work at Waratah Park on weekends probably Sunday's and pay back their debts generally these people work during the week?
We don't qualify under the scheme we aren't a government department and we are not a non profit organisation so we need a community sponsor who refers people on to us?Any ideas?
We are also looking for a Qualified Bush Regeneration person to do a native bush vegetation survey of the park so we can organise the correct planting in the correct areas of the park. The park has many different areas which need to be identified.
We will be starting to plant the 10,000 plants in the park hopefully in April do you know where we could source certain native species from??We are looking for many more volunteers in the months ahead to help with maintenance, weed removal and the big lot of planting ahead starting in April !!
Thanks once again to you for all the help and support you are giving the park. The third greatest icon in Australia!!
