Information about the Waratah Park Working Bee held on Sunday,7th July,2013.a total of 24 Volunteers including 6 kids below the age of 10 years old all pitched in to help.
The Bullen family from Nelson's Bay,Newcastle called into help!!
We are dealing with maintenance at the picnic ground, maintenance around the dam, tree removal next to Ranger Headquarters and the very large weed infestation of Latana as we push to the Southern Fence of Waratah Park only about 20 to 30 feet to go!! Also known as "Latana Bashing"!!!
Large parts of the park are now free of weeds and infestations after an amazing amount of work out of only a handful of proud Volunteers!!!
Our human resources are paper thin but are able to very slowly move forward!!!
We need more help!!
We now have support of "Optus RockCorps"on board with 3 Volunteers already registered and gaining experience and reward for their hard work!!A great scheme for volunteers in society.
Our corporate volunteers group move slowly forward in the degraded area of weeds!!
There isn't many Volunteers but we are making a difference as you can see.
A big thank you to the Bullen Family travelling all the way from Nelson's Bay Newcastle to help pull down the Water Gums next to the roadway entrance next to the Ranger HeadQuarters (Trev ,Michelle and Aliva Bullen ably supported by Janice Elphick, Martyn Grattage and Brett Gilmour).
It is now clear we are making a difference to the restoration of Waratah Park!!!This can be done!!!
