Waratah Park Working Bee!!

The next Waratah Park Working Bee will be held on Sunday,16th September 2018 from 9.00am to 1.00pm!

Another wonderful opportunity to join the brave volunteers of Waratah Park in saving this very important part of heritage and history.

Come along and see the many sites at the very famous Waratah Park whilst working alongside some of the best people you will ever meet.

The park has come along way over the past 6 years thanks to the Working Bee volunteers.

If you haven't been for a while it is a good time to visit and see the park once again. 

There are many different tasks to be performed on the day.Cleaning up,some bush regeneration and removing all different types and sizes of weeds are just some of them.

You will be trained and shown what to do on the day and all help and support will be forthcoming there is no pressure here it is an enjoyable day for all!

Bring the family,friends,neighbours or even a group of work mates along.

Everybody is welcome regardless of age or fitness we will fined a job that suits you!

Not only do you enjoy this wonderful experience you will learn alot of facts about the park and the bushland environment on the day.

Morning tea and lunch provided.Cost for the day is Nil.(4 hours of your time).

A terrific opportunity for businesses and there employees  to get involved with the park.No we don't want money we want you to come to the park and help us.

This is the only group currently working in Waratah Park we need your support and help to save it!There is no other help there is only you 4 hours one day a month!!

What do I wear on the day? 

Comfortable protective clothes that cover your arms and legs.A hat and gardening gloves that fit should be worn on the day.A comfort pair of shoes/boots should be worn.No bare feet!!Please along a bottle of drinking water  and sunscreen as well.  

Can I bring my own tools and which ones?

Yes you can bring own tools mainly cutting equipment such as Loppers,Bushsaws etc.Digging equipment such as Mattocks both long hand and short hand ones etc.Equipment that you would use around your garden.Brooms and rakes as well.

We have a small supply of Bush regeneration tools and cutting equipment on site.Also some gardening gloves as well!

We advise not to go shopping and buy lots of gear and equipment.We can help you!

 

Can I help in other ways?

**We are looking for the use of a chipper machine commercial size and work team to assist us in chipping several piles of branches.

**We are looking for person(s) to complete a vegetation study of the park.

**Donations of suitable native local species of plants.To be planted in the park!

**Help by spreading the word about the park to other people like family members,friends etc.

**Collecting "Tube stock" pots for reuse.
